Connected to Congo

The more I travel, the more people I meet, the more stories I hear, the more this quote from Madeleine L'engle rings true.

A day at the shared farm Action Kivu supports in Mumosho - photo by Rebecca Snavely
"What connects us human beings is far more central that that which separates us."
~ Madeleine L'engle

Where do you feel most connected with others? On a bus? At your office?  On a bar-stool or cafe chair, chatting with a stranger?

  1. I just found your site, read about what you're doing and donated through Handmade by Alissa's fundraiser. This is fantastic. This year I had the privilege of teaching women in the City of God (Rio De Janeiro) how to quilt (http://kwinrc.blogspot.com/2012/05/no-tchau.html). I've also been asked to teach women in need in India. I'm simply amazed at how something so near to a woman's heart can change her life. Sewing is not only good to put food on the table, it's great therapy which these ladies so desperately need. Thank you for what you're doing! Keep up the great work of changing lives!
